To ensure project success, organizations run three types of corporate project management training programs. The technical or certification training programs are designed to improve the technical knowledge of the resource. Tools training programs are designed to increase the software proficiency of the resources using PM tools or software. Non-project personnel are often overlooked by organizations. Successful companies also teach business people fundamental project management skills. These options will be discussed one-by-one.
Technical/Certification Training
Each member of a project team must be trained in technical skills. It is particularly important for project managers and team leaders to acquire technical project management skills. This will help them to manage their day effectively and complete the projects on time. Many organizations offer certification or technical training programs to their employees. They know how important these programs are and offer their employees multiple trainings.
You will face difficulties if you have good general management skills but not enough technical project management skills. You will lack technical skills and therefore not be able understand the requirements of the product or the project. It will be more difficult for you to find the right solution to a problem. It will be difficult for you to bring creativity into the project. Therefore, technical certification or training is a must for project teams.
