Update: SPOTO now offers online training for both CCENT/CCNA ICDN1100-105 and ICDN2200-105. Good luck and happy training!
Cisco has done it again. Cisco’s flagship CCENT and CCNA certifications just underwent their next major revision. This revision is not major, but it is good news.
Cisco made a huge change to their certifications last time, adding quite a lot of content. This time they have pulled back. Instead of adding more content and adding more content, we now see the removal of topics (such OSPF) from ICND1.
Candidates for ICND1 can expect to see:
Learn how to become a security expert with SPOTO’s Cybersecurity Training
Get trainingMore daily, solving common issues like locating devices, connection break, IP address misconfigurations, and so on.
Modeling is simpler, less complex (example: This is how a network should look vs. routing protocol negotiation problems troubleshooting).
More monitoring – Responding to device outages and determining the cause

This is great news. It’s almost like Cisco said, “Perhaps the bar was raised a bit too high this time.” Bravo Cisco… The CCENT is supposed not to make you a master of the field, but rather to get you INTO it.
Cisco expert Jeremy Cioara gave a webinar on What’s New With CCNAv3.0. This webinar should answer any questions you may have about CCNA.
What should you do?
It all boils down to learning and building. Learn through the (still being developed) SPOTO 101-105 course. To replicate the actions of Jeremy throughout the series, create a lab environment.
Convert your home network to a Cisco environment if you are really brave. Replace the D-Link router with a Cisco 2621. Segment your bedroom into a VLAN. For your neighbors, create a public WIFI network. Protect your XBox 360 against outside attacks with an Access Control List (ACL).
These additional resources were also created by our trainers to help you pass the CCNA ICND1/ICND2 exams prior to the deadline
Cisco CCNA Hands-on Labs Using Wireshark & GNS3
IPv4 Subnetting
Cisco R&S Troubleshooting Mastery
CCNA Transcender practice exams
There are many ideas. It is important to apply the concepts in the course in real-world situations. This will help you to activate your muscle memory and become the Cisco ninja that thousands of businesses worldwide want.
